Yuba River
Today, we took a trip towards Grass Valley, hoping to shoot some fall pictures, but it's still too early for the real autumn colors in our area. Nevertheless, the boulders in Yuba River offer great substitution, especially when basking in the evening sun.

Welcome fall
The fall is inevitably here. Et last, even here in the valley, Mother Nature is putting on an impressive show of colors and hues. Not that I'm not happy about it - how can you not love fall colors!! But I try to cling onto memories of summer and "stock up" on that feel of warmth for cold rainy days that are ahead of us.

Secret Garden
I just love some of the pictures we had taken during our trip to Monterey and Carmel two day ago. I knew I would scrap this page the moment I took the photo of that gate. It took me about 35 min, I think that's my personal record!!! lol

A beauty unexpected
As I was passing by my laundry room this morning, I caught a glimpse of bright colors coming out of it. Luckily, I have a tripod handy in my living room, the light was gone in three minutes! A perfect picture for the October photography challenge at Mscraps - about overlooked places we seldom photograph.

4WD trip to the Blue Lakes
Today, we took a trip to the Blue Lakes, south of well known Lake Tahoe in Sierra Mountains, el. 8136 ft. The first time I took my new Canon 7D for a real trip and MINE was the keen eye in the viewfinder!!
Well, except for one photo, gotta give my husband some credit :-)
DH having lunch

lots of fishermen everywhere, I must erase the couple sitting on the rock

faithful Jeep, this time I didn't mind the bumpy ride (=surprise)

typical me: bickering and bickering and ... (for the camera only, of course!)

playing with shutter speed settings

a humorous way how to remind people to keep the area clean (the guy is not real, mind you!)

Fall is here
The trees only now started to change their color and the mornings don't feel like I would want to run around in short sleeves anymore. It will be probably two more weeks until there will be a beautiful display of all the warm hues around us...
